Euclidean Delay (Line 6 Original)

Released With Helix Version 3.10
Euclidean Delay, the Helix model of a Line 6 Original

Recorded with a Les Paul, using the US Princess amp model at default settings, amp and cab.

This delay is a Line 6 original, based on Euclidean rhythm algorithms. Our layman's understanding is that a rhythm pattern in broken up into 8, 12, or 16 slices. Then the delay repeats are specifically programmed to fall into the slices according to the patch configuration. If you have more info on this and want to clarify, please let us know in the comments.

There are controls for Time, Feedback, Steps, Fill, Rotate, Mix, and Low and High Cuts.

This model appears intimidating at first glance (or at least I thought it was) but its actually quite straightforward, it can be thought of as simply a multi tap that spaces the taps intelligently.

You can think of using it in three easy steps

1. How many taps do you want? Select that number in 'fill'

2. Adjust 'steps' until those taps are spaced out in an interesting sequence (if this is a number less than, or equal to 'fill' then there will be no spaces and it will just de a dull, linear multi-tap)

3. if it sounds good, but the sequence isnt starting on the right part, adjust 'rotate' until it is.

Dont be afraid to turn the 'time' division to very short times like 16th or 32nd notes, this can make some very cool effects since the sequence can extend for much longer than that.
